| Abstract: |
The formation and development of global diamond market and Ukraine in particular has been presented. A historical information list and geological facts about a diamond as a stone with various physical and value properties are covered. Top 15 most expensive diamonds in the world as of 2017 were presented. The cost and price characteristics of diamonds as a gemstone are investigated. The activities of lead companies in diamond production industry, like Tiffany & Co (1837) and De Beers (1888), have been investigated. The basic strategies of the companies Tiffany & Co (1837) and De Beers (1888), based on it the diamonds became «eternal ornaments», are highlighted. The development trends for the gemstone market in Ukraine have been investigated. The investment value of diamonds as one of the most effective forms of investment in the world is analyzed. |
