Abstract:

This article investigates the critical issue of employee engagement as a pivotal factor for the sustainable development of companies. It examines the impact of engagement on enterprise performance amidst contemporary challenges, particularly economic instability and digital transformation. The research focuses on employee engagement within the context of strategic human resource management. Modern scientific approaches to the definition of the term «employee engagement» are analysed, including theoretical concepts and empirical studies in the field of human resource management and organisational behaviour. The study also classifies the main factors that influence the level of employee engagement, including working conditions, corporate culture, level of support and feedback from management, career and professional development opportunities, and the level of remuneration transparency. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of modern methods of assessing the level of employee engagement, including the Gallup Q12 survey, eNPS, OCQ and SSM methodology, which are of practical importance for HR analytics. The methodological foundation of this research includes a systemic approach, content analysis of scientific sources, and comparative analysis of human resource management tools. The primary emphasis is placed on practical approaches to enhancing engagement, such as implementing continuous employee training systems, developing motivation strategies, fostering a favorable work environment, cultivating a feedback culture, and developing the emotional intelligence of leaders. The study confirms that a high level of engagement contributes to increased labor productivity, improved customer service, reduced staff turnover, and overall strengthening of a company's competitiveness. The article proposes a series of practical recommendations for managers and HR specialists on developing effective human capital management strategies that can be used in the process of improving HR policies and increasing organisational efficiency.
