| Abstract: |
The article addresses the transformation of Ukraine’s tourism industry underb the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war as a key factor of contemporary geopolitical instability. The study is devoted to identifying the mechanisms through which military and political processes influence the functioning of the tourism sector, the dynamics of tourist flows, investment attractiveness, the spatial structure of tourism infrastructure and the economic performance of the industry. The focus is on Ukraine’s tourism industry as a component of the national economy that is undergoing systemic changes under the impact of security threats, mobility restrictions, territorial losses, and shifts in the country’s international image. The purpose of the article is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the geopolitical situation during the russian-Ukrainian war and its impact on the development of tourism in Ukraine. The methodological framework of the study is based on systemic and structural-functional approaches to analyzing the tourism industry as a component of the national economy under conditions of crisis-driven transformations. The research employs methods of statistical analysis, comparison, generalization, and content analysis of official reports from government bodies, international organizations and analytical centers. Cause-and-effect modeling is relationship between geopolitical risks, security factors, investment climate and volumes of tourism activity is applied. The results of the study indicate that the russian-Ukrainian war has let a sharp decline in international tourist flows, significant losses in tourist infrastructure and an increase in regional asymmetry in the development of the industry. At the same time, processes of reorientation of tourist activity toward domestic have been identified. It is demonstrated that geopolitical instability directly affects the investment attractiveness of tourist projects, credit ratings and the trust of international partners, which deepens the sector’s economic losses while simultaneously stimulating the search for adaptive development models. It is substantiated that the recovery of Ukraine’s tourism industry under wartime conditions and in the post-war period requires the integration of the security factor into strategic planning, the active use of the potential of domestic tourism, and support from international programs and grants.
